PennState Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a nursing job in Campbelltown, Pennsylvania.

SUMMARY OF POSITION :

The Penn State Health Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) fellowship is a postgraduate, transition-to-The Penn State Health Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) fellowship is a post-graduate, transition-to-practice training program for physician assistants and acute care nurse practitioners who have a sincere interest in a career as a Critical Care APP. The 12-month program includes clinical rotations through Penn State Health’s adult Critical Care Units. Additional time will be spent with services that support critical care such as Nephrology, Palliative Care, and Infectious Disease. Trainees are expected to work an average of 40 hours per week clinically. In addition to the variety of clinical experiences, there will be didactic sessions and hands-on training in our high-fidelity simulation lab. Learning will also be enhanced using online learning modules, case conferences, evidenced-based readings, and journal clubs. The trainees can expect to dedicate approximately 10-12 hours a week to completing these learning activities. For more details about the Penn State Health Critical Care Fellowship please go to

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program
  • National board certification required for both NPs and PAs prior to the start of the fellowship program.
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification

Fellowship Requirements:

  • Ability to dedicate up to 50 hours a week to fellowship training. Hours may be divided between clinical rotation, reading, completing online training modules, didactic sessions, case conferences, journal clubs and clinical simulation.
  • Trainees will be expected to work the schedule that is outlined by their clinical mentors.
  • Schedules will include days, evenings, nights and weekends, but no holidays.

  • A personal narrative describing your professional goals and interest in Critical Care (Double spaced, 12 font, max 3 pages).
  • A resume/CV, including a description of past critical care experience, including clinical rotations, if any.
  • Three letters of recommendation, one from a current program director or clinical faculty. If greater than two years since graduation, one from a recent supervising physician or APP colleague.

Application deadline is February 28, 2025. All items must be submitted by the deadline (including letters of recommendation), to be considered for the Fall 2025 cohort.

All applications will be reviewed, and the finalists will be contacted to complete virtual interviews in March 2025. Final selections will be made by Late April 2025.
